On 26 October 2021 students from Poland and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe had a unique opportunity to meet virtually during the 4th edition of the University Management Accounting Day (UMAD). The event is organised by CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, in collaboration with the most prestigious universities of economics in the region.
The University Management Accounting Day CEE is organised every year together with CIMA partner universities and is addressed to undergraduate and postgraduate students of finance and accounting. UMAD brings together students, lecturers, best CIMA's employers and employees in Poland and abroad. The main goal of UMAD CEE is to familiarize students with the essence of management accounting and its role in shaping business.
This year's edition of the event was held online and attracted over 150 students from different economic universities in Poland, Czech Republic and Romania. Participants could make the most of the panel discussion entitled 'Readiness of students to be employed - what are employers looking for in graduates?'. CIMA experts representing global companies from various sectors shared their insights on what competencies employers expect from graduates.

This year Poznań University of Economics and Business (PUEB), which organized UMAD accompanying event, deserved a special recognition. On 28 October, PUEB students could participate in a lecture hosted by invited experts from Infosys BPM Poland. Ms. Marta Żywicka from the Digital Transformation team and Mr. Krystian Stasiak - from the Tax Center of Excellence spoke on the topic of Digitization of accounting documentation as a tool for optimizing business processes.
